COULD TURN INTO

a back office position where you are responsible for more, working on site, and an increase in pay. If it is JUST insurance billing it would be around 15K+ per month and grow as the volume billed grows (that is around $30/hr and negotiable). If it is ONLY insurance billing it can be done off site but the hope is that it would turn into a full time spot running the back office as well. Duties Prepare and submit insurance claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy with DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding standards. Review medical records and documentation to verify proper coding for procedures, diagnoses, and treatments. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies to maximize reimbursement. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing discrepancies or missing information. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claim statuses, and correspondence with insurance carriers. Stay updated on changes in medical coding regulations, insurance policies, and billing procedures to ensure compliance. Assist patients with billing inquiries and explain insurance benefits or payment options clearly. Requirements Proven experience in medical billing with a strong understanding of ICD coding (ICD-9 and ICD-10), CPT coding, DRG classifications, and medical terminology. Familiarity with EMR systems and EHR platforms for efficient claim processing. Knowledge of medical records management and documentation standards. Demonstrated ability to perform accurate medical coding and medical collection activities. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure error-free submissions. Strong communication skills for liaising with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients. Prior experience in a medical office environment is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
