Job Description
You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients. Job Summary Our client is seeking a Follow Up Representative experienced in managing revenue cycle operations, particularly within the context of billing and claim submission in the healthcare sector. The role demands a detailed understanding of the Epic Resolute Hospital Billing system and the Illinois MEDI Portal, with responsibilities spanning claim submissions, denial management, and maintaining financial integrity through billing operations. Key Responsibilities Facilitate daily claim submission to the Illinois MEDI portal, focusing on front-end edit resolution and Illinois Medicaid ID validation. Manage Illinois "Spenddown" cases and execute manual overrides for clean claim submissions. Research and resolve denials, concentrating on timely filing and Managed Care Organizations. Utilize Passport and Claim Source for real-time eligibility verification and insurance discovery. Process late charge billing, credit balances, and refunds to ensure account accuracy. Meet or exceed key performance indicators, managing fluctuating billing volumes efficiently. Qualifications Hospital / Facility Revenue Cycle experience is essential. Proficiency in the Illinois MEDI Portal and Epic systems required. Understanding of Illinois HFS (Healthcare and Family Services) guidelines. 1-2+ years of experience in Illinois Medicaid Billing or Collections. Experience 1-2+ years in Illinois Medicaid Billing or Collections. Skills Technical proficiency with Epic Resolute Hospital Billing and the Illinois MEDI Portal. Strong understanding of Illinois healthcare guidelines and regulations. Benefits Paid Sick Leave (Medix provides paid sick leave according to state and local sick leave ordinances). Eligibility for health benefits is based on verifying that an average of 30 hours per week during the first 4 weeks of the work assignment has been met. If you meet eligibility requirements and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s)). 401k (Eligible on the first 401k open enrollment date following 6 consecutive months on assignment. 401k Open Enrollment dates are 1/1, 4/1, 7/1, and 10/1). Short Term Disability Insurance. Term Life Insurance Plan.
