04/28/2026 9:46 AM The Village of Plainfield is seeking to hire a full time Utility Billing Representative. This position provides customer service, handles billing questions/concerns, account maintenance, sends out past-due notices, authorizes water shut-offs, collects payments, and applies late fees. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Utility Billing Supervisor and reviewed through verification of financial records and through periodic audits.

Required:

Associate degree with an emphasis in business or related field. Minimum of (1) year accounting, customer service, collection, or cash experience. Experience with NewWorld/Tyler Technologies and OpenGov software a plus. Any equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. This position will participate in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund Pension. With the option of participating in the 457 Retirement plan, and employee wellness program. Paid vacation, two personal days, twelve sick days, and eleven paid holidays are also provided annually. The hourly range for this non-exempt position is $27.28 - $37.02 per hour, depending on qualifications and experiences. Anticipated starting salary is from the minimum to the middle of the range.
