Medical Billing Specialist

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare administration team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical billing processes, coding systems, and insurance procedures. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing claims, managing patient accounts, and ensuring timely reimbursement. Your expertise in medical coding, medical records management, and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems will be essential to maintaining efficient billing operations and supporting the financial health of our healthcare facility. Responsibilities Review and verify medical documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness for billing purposes. Prepare and submit insurance claims efficiently, following all regulatory guidelines to maximize reimbursement. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective communication with insurance providers and patients. Maintain detailed records of billing transactions, adjustments, and collections within electronic medical record (EMR) and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Collaborate with medical staff to clarify documentation discrepancies and improve coding accuracy. Assist in managing patient accounts by providing billing support and resolving billing inquiries promptly. Experience Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or healthcare administration within a clinical or hospital setting. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and insurance claim processes. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for billing and record keeping purposes. Demonstrated ability to handle medical collections effectively while maintaining professionalism. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Prior experience in a medical office environment is preferred but not mandatory; relevant internships are also valuable. Pay:

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
