Billing Specialists are responsible for the appropriate billing and coding of assigned accounts. Utilize and assign appropriate ICD-10, HCPCS and modifiers for ambulance services to each claim. Read and comprehend the content of the patient care report to sufficiently analyze and perform coding to each claim. Answer phone inquiries from patients and insurance companies.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of medical terminology, HCPCS, ICD-10 Coding and HIPAA guidelines a must. Working knowledge of all insurance carriers, including Advantage Plans/Medicare and Managed Care/Medicaid. Must have strong computer skills and proficient use of Microsoft applications and internet resources. Typing minimum 40 WPM. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail are required. Must be able to sit for long periods of time in an office setting. Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. All work is performed in our Elkhart, IN office. This is an hourly position and wages are determined by experience and skill level.
