Job Description

Bionic Prosthetics and Orthotics is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in collections, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to resolving outstanding accounts. As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and collecting on past-due accounts, negotiating payment arrangements, and maintaining positive relationships with clients. Responsibilites
  • Proactively pursue and resolve denied,non-payment or underpaid claims
  • Responsible for correcting, and processing claims for all payors
  • Analyze and interpret that claims are accurately sent to the insurance companies
  • Perform follow-up with Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, Veterans, and Commercial plans to determine claim status
  • Identify unpaid/underpaid claims/through aging reports
  • Process appeals online or via paper submission
  • Assist with billing audits and related information
  • Process refund request
  • Attend provider workshops when needed
  • Communicate with billing and credentialing coordinator to identify and resolve inventory
  • Process billing calls and resolve inquiries from patients and third-party carriers
  • Respond to Insurance correspondence
  • Identify trends, carrier issues related to billing and reimbursements, appeal processing time-frames
  • DME billing experience a plus but not required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience in a healthcare business or technical environment
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting
  • Previous experience with payor web portal navigation
  • Experience with electronic medical record experience preferred
  • Understanding of medical terminology and insurance guidelines
  • Excellent organization and time management skills along with oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, build and maintain long-term working relationships and work with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical, organizational and time management skills required.
