out of 5 stars Seymour, IN 47274 From $14.07 an hour Schneck Medical Center 68 reviews From $14.07 an hour The Payment Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely remittance posting and cash posting to support the financial integrity of Schneck Medical Center. This role ensures payments from insurance carriers, government payers, and patients are properly applied, reconciled, and recorded in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Post insurance remittances (ERA/EOB) and patient payments accurately to patient accounts Perform daily cash posting, balancing, and reconciliation activities Identify, research, and resolve posting discrepancies or variances Maintain compliance with payer guidelines, Medicare regulations, and internal controls Collaborate with billing, follow-up, and leadership teams to resolve payment issues Support month-end closing and audit processes as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; healthcare revenue cycle experience preferred Experience with remittance posting, cash posting, or medical billing strongly preferred Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team What makes this role even better? EDUCATION
Minimum:
High School Diploma or GED/HSE accredited by the State Board of Education
EXPERIENCE
Minimum:
Analytical aptitude, excellent customer service, basic computer knowledge
Preferred:
Previous cash management and balancing experience
