Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses, managing billing processes, and ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance providers. Your expertise will help streamline revenue cycle operations, improve patient record accuracy, and support the overall efficiency of our medical practice. Duties Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
(Current Procedural Terminology), and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes for procedures and diagnoses Prepare and submit accurate claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to insurance companies, government programs, and patients Follow up on unpaid or rejected claims through effective medical collection strategies Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits prior to service delivery Maintain comprehensive medical records ensuring all coding aligns with current standards and regulations Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation for accurate coding and billing Stay updated on changes in medical terminology, coding guidelines, and payer policies to ensure compliance and optimize reimbursement processes Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related healthcare administrative role Strong knowledge ofICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding systems, as well as DRG classifications Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for billing and record keeping Understanding of medical billing procedures, insurance claims processing, and collections practices Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex medical data accurately Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare providers, insurers, and patients Join us in making a difference by ensuring precise billing practices that support quality patient care!
