Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Billing & Insurance Specialist (Part-Time) to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in helping children access the therapy services they need by managing insurance verification, authorizations, claims processing, payment posting, and other revenue cycle functions. Your expertise will help ensure children receive uninterrupted care while supporting accurate billing, timely reimbursement, regulatory compliance, and a positive experience for the families we serve. Obtain, track, and manage insurance authorizations and reauthorizations to support uninterrupted patient care. Review documentation for completeness and accuracy to support compliant billing practices. Prepare, submit, monitor, and follow up on insurance claims through the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Investigate, resolve, and appeal denied, rejected, or unpaid claims to maximize reimbursement. Post payments, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate billing records. Assist patients and families with billing and insurance-related questions in a professional and compassionate manner. Maintain detailed documentation of billing activities, insurance correspondence, and account actions. Collaborate with therapists, providers, and administrative staff to resolve billing discrepancies and documentation issues. Stay informed on payer requirements, coding updates, reimbursement changes, and healthcare regulations. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, billing guidelines, and organizational policies. Support the overall financial health and operational success of the clinic through effective revenue cycle management. Qualification & Skills Minimum of two (2) years of medical billing, insurance verification, healthcare administration, or revenue cycle experience. Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding principles. Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and healthcare documentation. Familiarity with Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, and insurance claims processing. Strong understanding of medical terminology, billing procedures, and reimbursement processes. Experience managing claim denials, appeals, collections, and payment follow-up activities. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills with patients, families, providers, and insurance representatives. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software applications.
