DMEPOS Billing Manager Pay Range:
$40,000-$50,000 (DOE)
Benefits:

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented DMEPOS Billing Manager to oversee all aspects of billing and revenue cycle operations for a durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) organization. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing, maintaining compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, HIPAA, and accreditation standards, and optimizing reimbursement processes through effective revenue cycle management. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, extensive Brightree experience, and in-depth knowledge of DMEPOS billing regulations and workflows.
Responsibilities Billing & Revenue Cycle Management:
Oversee the full DMEPOS billing cycle, including intake verification, claim submission, payment posting, and collections. Ensure accurate use of HCPCS codes, modifiers, and supporting documentation requirements. Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and implement strategies to reduce outstanding balances. Track, investigate, and resolve denied or rejected claims promptly. Ensure compliance with Medicare DME MAC guidelines and payer-specific requirements. Maintain accurate and timely reimbursement processes to maximize revenue cycle performance.
Brightree System Management:
Manage daily billing operations within Brightree and related billing systems. Optimize workflows, billing queues, and reporting functionality. Train staff on system updates, workflows, and billing procedures. Run and analyze reports related to accounts receivable, denials, revenue trends, and audit activity. Maintain system data integrity and compliance documentation.
Compliance & Accreditation:
Ensure billing operations comply with ACHC, Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and HIPAA requirements. Maintain audit-ready documentation for claims and patient records. Develop, implement, and enforce billing policies and procedures. Assist with accreditation surveys, audits, and regulatory reviews. Monitor regulatory changes affecting DMEPOS billing and communicate updates to staff.
Team Leadership:
Supervise, train, and evaluate billing staff performance. Establish productivity expectations and performance metrics. Conduct regular team meetings and ongoing training sessions. Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement process improvements. Address staff performance concerns and support professional development.
Financial Oversight:
Generate monthly billing and revenue reports for leadership review. Analyze reimbursement trends and payer performance metrics. Collaborate with leadership regarding budgeting and financial forecasting. Identify revenue leakage opportunities and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of DMEPOS billing experience required. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience required. Extensive experience using Brightree required. Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance billing, and DMEPOS compliance requirements. Experience managing accounts receivable, denials, and reimbursement processes. Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
