You'll have access to: A collaborative and supportive team environment Leadership that is invested in your success and professional development Ongoing training The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in your community Position Summary The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for managing insurance claims, payment posting, account follow-up, and reimbursement processes to ensure timely and accurate revenue cycle management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to delivering excellent service while maintaining compliance with healthcare billing regulations. Responsibilities Submit and track insurance claims accurately and timely Verify patient insurance benefits and coverage Follow up on unpaid, denied, or underpaid claims Post insurance and patient payments Review and resolve billing discrepancies Maintain accurate patient account records Communicate effectively with insurance companies, patients, and clinic staff Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and HIPAA regulations Assist with month-end billing and reporting processes Help patients understand Explanation of Benefits (EOB) Skills & Qualifications Minimum of one year of medical billing/AT billing experience ( REQUIRED) Knowledge of insurance claims processing and reimbursement procedures Experience with EMR and billing software preferred, including electronic filing, denials, aging of accounts Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Must project a warm, enthusiastic and friendly demeanor in client and team member interactions Ability to navigate insurance websites High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare billing certifications are a plus
