Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Coding and Billing Specialist to join our practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in medical coding and billing procedures, and have several years experience in medical billing. Experience with EPIC and athenahealth required. Experience in ob/gyn a plus Duties Review and assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes for accurate billing. Reconcile and submit claims using EPIC and athenahealth Manage medical billing processes, including verifying insurance coverage, coding services correctly, and following up on unpaid claims Resolve outstanding balances with patients and insurance companies Submit appeals for denied claims to insurance companies Post payments from patients and insurers Monitor obstetrical billing for timely submission Requirements Proven experience in medical office settings with a focus on medical billing and coding. Strong knowledge of ICD-10, and CPT coding systems Comprehensive knowledge of athenahealth
