Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant/Operational Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting the operational functions of our clinic or hospital setting. Your enthusiasm and proactive approach will help ensure smooth clinic operations, efficient patient flow, and high-quality medical support. Responsibilities Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to support accurate clinical assessments Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist providers during patient examinations and procedures Support medical documentation by coding diagnoses using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes and ensuring accurate recordkeeping Administer medications or injections under supervision, following proper protocols and safety procedures Manage administrative tasks including appointment scheduling, patient correspondence, and maintaining clinic supplies Collaborate with healthcare teams across outpatient settings, emergency medicine units, or inpatient wards such as ICU or Geriatrics units to facilitate seamless patient care delivery Support radiology departments by assisting with X-ray procedures or other diagnostic tests as needed Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma environments Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) protocols Experience working in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics; familiarity with medical-surgical environments is highly desirable Proficiency with EHR systems for documentation and data entry; experience with ICD coding is a plus Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations including geriatrics and PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) patients Ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with medication administration, and supporting emergency medicine procedures Familiarity with hospital experience requirements including Level I or Level II trauma centers and OR (Operating Room) environments Knowledge of internal medicine practices and inpatient workflows to ensure efficient patient throughput Capable of handling intake processes efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced settings Join us to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while advancing your career in a supportive and energetic environment!
