Billing Clerk

The City of Escanaba is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual for the full-time position of Billing Clerk in the Utility Department. We are seeking to fill this position in July. The starting hourly wage for this position is $23.08 per hour. This individual will be responsible for preparing and maintaining monthly utility consumption records and billing, as well as assisting customers. May also assist with meter servicing functions within the Utility Billing Department, as needed. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent; valid Michigan Driver's License; be able to walk five (5) to ten (10) miles per day, at a hurried pace, in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, cold, heat, etc.; utilize hand held meter reading equipment; inspect meters for leaks.
