Medical Billing Specialist

We are seeking a full-time medical billing specialist for our fast-paced Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry) practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, outstanding customer service skills, and a strong medical billing background. With a focus on denials and working accounts receivable. EPIC billing experience preferred. Competitive Salary. This is not a remote position.

Job Duties:

• Daily verification of insurance coverage and eligibility
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding patient coverage
• Daily charge entering and payment posting
• Reviewing physician documentation to verify billing codes
• Insurance payment posting
• Obtaining prior authorizations for procedures
• Weekly review of denied claims and account receivables management
• Provides problem resolution to billing and follow-up issues as needed
• Handle patient inquires and answer questions from staff and insurance companies
• Identify and resolve patient billing problems Auto & Workers Comp billing knowledge
• Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1-2+ years of experience in Medical Billing required
• Experience in A/R management and claim denial follow-up
• Proficient in

CPT, ICD-10

codes

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency in technology
• Effectively able to multitask on a daily basis
• Capable of making timely, independent decisions
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Active listener, adaptable and coachable
• Naturally curious, engaging, and unafraid to ask questions

$21.00 - $23.00 per hour
