  • Full-time Lakehouse Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Billing Specialist to join our team.
This role plays a critical part in maintaining the financial health of our organization while supporting residents and families with professionalism and compassion. Position Summary The Billing Specialist is responsible for managing accounts receivable, resolving outstanding balances, and ensuring timely collections of private pay and Medicaid (MA) pending accounts. This individual will work closely with facility leadership and regional teams to ensure accurate documentation and efficient follow-through on all collection efforts. Key Responsibilities Successfully open and manage Medicaid (MA) pending cases , ensuring timely submission and follow-up Collect outstanding private pay balances , demonstrating consistent and measurable results Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all collection activities , including communication and action steps taken Monitor aging reports and proactively address delinquent accounts Communicate professionally with residents, families, and responsible parties regarding account status Collaborate effectively with onsite leadership and regional support teams to resolve account issues Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and company policies related to billing and collections Qualifications Prior experience in long-term care billing and collections preferred Proven success in collections and accounts receivable management Experience working with Medicaid (MA) pending cases required Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office applications Experience with Assisted Living (AL) billing , Elderly Waiver (EW) billing , or Medicare Advantage (MA) billing within a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) is highly preferred. Experience with private collections and account follow-up is also beneficial.
