Medical Coder/Billing Specialist

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Coder/Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in medical coding and billing processes, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient revenue cycle management. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing chart documentation to capture all appropriate codes, managing claims submissions, and supporting the financial health of our practice through meticulous billing practices. Duties Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes in compliance with current coding standards. Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using electronic health record (EHR) or electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Ensure proper documentation of diagnoses, procedures, and treatments within medical records for billing purposes. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims to facilitate timely collections and resolve discrepancies with insurance companies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, insurance policies, and regulatory requirements affecting medical billing. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding for optimal reimbursement. Support the organization's revenue cycle by performing medical collection activities and maintaining detailed records of billing transactions. Skills Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding. Experience with EMR/EHR systems used for documentation and billing processes. Knowledge of medical billing procedures, insurance claim submission, and follow-up practices. Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in coding and billing activities. Effective communication skills to liaise with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding billing issues.

Pay:

$26.00 - $31.00 per hour
