Job Description
Description We are looking for a Billing Clerk to join a service-focused team. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can manage billing activities accurately, communicate effectively regarding account balances, and support timely invoicing in a computerized environment. The role requires strong organization, careful recordkeeping, and the ability to work confidently with billing systems and customer account information.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and issue accurate invoices, account summaries, and billing statements in accordance with company procedures.
- Review billing records for completeness, resolve discrepancies, and update account details within computerized billing systems.
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on collections activity in a timely manner.
- Maintain organized documentation of transactions, payment activity, and customer billing history for audit readiness.
- Respond to billing-related questions from internal teams and customers, providing clear information on charges and account status.
- Reconcile billing data against supporting records to help ensure invoices are processed correctly and on schedule. Requirements
- Experience performing billing support duties in an administrative, accounting, or service-related environment.
- Working knowledge of invoicing procedures, account follow-up, and billing statement preparation.
- Ability to navigate computerized billing platforms and enter data with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors, inconsistencies, and missing information.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for handling billing questions and collection follow-up.
- Proficiency with standard computer applications and general office systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and stay organized in a fast-paced setting.
