SQL skills Ability to create SQL queries from scratch Telecom or product catalogue experience General knowledge, not a SME Product catalogues are where the attributes of a product are documented For a phone, attributes would be material of the screen, material of the back of the phone, processor type, specifics about the camera, overall dimensions, specifics about the charging port, etc. Literally anything about the phone that someone may want to know has to be documented in a product catalogue Analytical experience Critical thinker - ability to identify a problem and come up with solutions Well spoken, present to leadership - able to explain their work Speaking to their work on calls Office Suite expertise Excel is mostly used for tracking promotions/products, formulas, etc. Macros, v look ups, pivot tables are used in more advanced roles (i.e. triage) Plusses Computer science background/degree Coding background Day to Day Responsibilities/project specifics: This team is responsible for the backend configuration of device and service promotions as offered by this company. Specific offers and promotions may come from the business or from manufacturers, and sometimes they are anticipated and sometimes they are not. There are two general roles on this team, one has to do with implementing new promotional offers into the billing system and the other has to do with inputting new features/offerings into the billing software. Both involve either completion of configuration into the billing software or writing/reviewing technical spec documentations associated with the project. This team requires excellent communication as responsibilities include talking to internal (IT) and external stakeholders including 3rd party vendors. Analytical capabilities are required in the form of data validation through SQL/Power BI and solutioning when incomplete or improper data are available. From there, the analyst may need to talk about their solution on calls as the solution will then go into testing, etc. to ensure proper interaction when the customer has access. This is a fast-paced role with a learning curve involved - ideal candidates will be ready to work hard, challenged and make a difference.
