Collections Specialist Avion Funding - NJ (On-Site)
Salary:
$52,000-$168,000 + PTO Avion Funding is a merchant cash advance company committed to providing flexible capital solutions to small and mid-sized businesses. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our team and play a key role in managing portfolio health and merchant relationships. The Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing delinquent accounts, structuring payment resolutions, and ensuring compliance across a portfolio of active MCA contracts. This is a high-impact, fast-paced role suited for someone who thrives under pressure, communicates with authority, and can balance firmness with professionalism when engaging merchants. Responsibilities Proactively contact merchants with missed or returned payments and establish clear resolution paths before end of day Monitor active deals and identify potential delinquency or default risk before issues escalate Manage ACH bounce tracking, retry schedules, and payment agreement documentation Negotiate and structure temporary payment arrangements within company guidelines Coordinate with brokers, underwriting, accounting, and legal teams as needed Maintain accurate, audit-ready records across all accounts Ensure all collections activity is conducted in accordance with applicable regulations and internal compliance standards Qualifications Prior experience in MCA collections or a closely related financial collections role is strongly preferred Solid understanding of MCA contract terms, ACH processing, and default management Strong negotiation and communication skills — written and verbal High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to documentation Ability to manage a high-volume portfolio in a deadline-driven environment
