Billing Specialist

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team in Portales. This full-time position is responsible for the accurate billing and collection of accounts receivable, including Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, self-pay, and other payer sources as applicable.

Key responsibilities include:

Entering, verifying, and submitting insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner Ensuring claims comply with payer and regulatory requirements Following up with insurance carriers on unpaid or denied claims Responding to patient inquiries regarding account balances and charges Posting payments and adjustments to patient accounts This position plays a critical role in supporting efficient revenue cycle operations while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.

Qualifications include:

Two years of medical insurance billing experience helpful; Billing/Coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA preferred. Knowledge of automated business applications, including word-processing, spreadsheet and data base applications required. Data entry experience and knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party insurance required. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Salary commensurate with experience.
