Senior Billing Team Lead Location:
New York, NY (Hybrid - 3 Days In Office) A leading international law firm is seeking a Senior Billing Team Lead to join its growing Revenue Cycle team in New York. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal billing professional looking to take on a senior-level role supporting complex client accounts, mentoring team members, and serving as a subject matter expert within the billing function. Key Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of high-volume, complex legal billing accounts for domestic and international clients. Review, edit, and finalize client invoices while ensuring compliance with client billing guidelines. Handle all aspects of eBilling, including troubleshooting and resolving invoice rejections. Prepare and maintain accruals, forecasts, reporting, and other client-specific billing requirements. Partner directly with attorneys, clients, and internal stakeholders to resolve billing issues and improve processes. Analyze billing workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy. Develop and maintain billing procedures, documentation, and best practices. Serve as a senior resource for the billing team by providing training, mentoring, and guidance to junior staff. Support special projects, reporting initiatives, system enhancements, and testing efforts. Act as a point of escalation for complex billing matters and client account issues. Provide leadership support during periods of increased workload, team absences, or operational transitions. Qualifications 5+ years of legal billing experience within a law firm environment. Strong experience managing high-volume billing portfolios and complex client accounts. Advanced knowledge of legal billing systems, preferably Aderant. Experience with eBilling platforms such as BillBlast, eBillingHub, or similar systems. Strong understanding of billing compliance, accruals, write-offs, transfers, and client guidelines. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and
VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
functions. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys, finance teams, and firm leadership. Preferred Experience supporting global or multinational clients. Prior experience mentoring, training, or leading billing professionals. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
