Medical Billing Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Hospice & Palliative Care Medical Biller to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of hospice and/or palliative care billing, insurance verification, claim submission, denial management, and Medicare/Medicaid regulations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate reimbursement while supporting compassionate patient care services.

What you will be doing:

Submit and monitor hospice and palliative care claims Verify insurance eligibility and benefits Review and resolve claim denials and rejections Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable Post insurance and patient payments accurately Work with Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and commercial insurance plans Ensure billing compliance with payer guidelines and regulations Communicate with insurance carriers regarding claims status and authorization requirements Act as a backup for Medicare and Medicaid as needed Assist team in other tasks as needed and as directed by supervisor or CFO Skills we are looking for: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to prioritize and work independently Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Capability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Proficient with Excel and Word Has understanding of insurance websites

Preferred Education & Experience:

Minimum High School diploma Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience required Experience with EMR/billing software required Hospice and/or palliative care billing experience preferred Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing regulations Experience with claim corrections, appeals, and denial management required

Hours:

Monday-Friday (8:30am-4:30pm)

Pay:

$63,500-68,000/yr
