Elmwood Dental Group is a patient-focused dental practice dedicated to delivering exceptional care with compassion and integrity. We're a fast-paced, friendly, and supportive team that values precision, professionalism, and people. We're currently seeking an experienced Dental Billing Specialist to join our administrative team and ensure smooth, accurate billing and insurance processes.
Position Overview:
As our Dental Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of patient billing and insurance claims. You'll work closely with front office staff, dental providers, and insurance companies to ensure timely and accurate reimbursements, while providing excellent customer service to our patients regarding their accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and submit dental insurance claims and pre-authorizations Post insurance and patient payments accurately in the practice management software Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve billing discrepancies Generate and review aging reports Generate and send patient statements Respond to patient inquiries about billing and insurance in a friendly and clear manner Stay updated on current dental coding and insurance guidelines Maintain organized and accurate billing records Coordinate with the clinical team to ensure accurate documentation and coding
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in dental billing and insurance (required) Strong knowledge of dental terminology, CDT codes, and insurance claim processes Proficiency in dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental) Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication and customer service abilities Ability to work independently and manage time effectively High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in billing is a plus Why Join Us?
