No Required Experience & Expectations:
At least 5 years experience in medical billing or mental health, insurance handling, and other billing practices, processes, and procedures At least 2 years experience with an EHR system where insurance claims, billing, etc. is done Knowledge of mental health billing practices Intermediate Knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Able to handle multiple roles and responsibilities Acute attention to detail Able to work in a fast-paced environment Able to be proactive Motivated and driven for success Able to keep cool under pressure and always maintain a positive and motivated attitude Looking to build a long-term career with Wellness Grove Preferred Experience & Expectations:
(not required) Experience with mental health billing Experience with TherapyNotes electronic health records (EHR) platform Experience with credentialing mental health therapists with insurance carriers Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business Administration or related field Roles & Responsibilities:
Assisting with the handling, reporting, and other processes regarding all payment transactions, merchant services, and accounting aspects Advocate for the maximum amount of hours our clients can receive Ensure that the insurance companies we bill are billing the correct hours and rates Act as a liaison between the insurance companies and Wellness Grove Assist in the handling of multiple specialty teams (internally and externally) which include, but are not limited to: billing, benefit verification, claims and collections Routinely conduct audits and analysis to ensure optimal claims processing and reimbursement Maked recommendations for operational change and staff education to billing oversight (including Senior Medical Billing Specialists) Report to billing oversight on payer issues in order to ensure that the organization is compliant with federal and state regulations Monitor and report on key metrics, including but not limited to cash collections, net A/R days, aging, initial denial rates, underpayments, clean claims %, write-offs, payment-to-charge percentage Proactively perform root cause analysis and develop action plans when metrics do not meet internal goals or industry best practices (with direction and leadership from billing oversight) Inform billing oversight about trends and issues impacting performance. Summarize detailed data in a clear and concise manner so that information is actionable and in an easy-to-understand format Contact insurance companies for payment requests, overdue payments, denied claims, arrangement payments, and resolution of claim issues Ability to problem-solve regarding overpayments and underpayments (with collaboration and leadership from billing oversight) Maintains required billing records, reports, files, etc. Verify and complete charge information in a database and submit claims to insurance companies Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation Assist in insurance audits as they arise (when directed by billing oversight and through instructions) Identify and communicate to billing oversight any holes in the current billing process and suggest methods of improvement Answers main telephone line, determining if caller can be helped based on need or whether they need to be routed to another staff member, as appropriate Benefits of Working at Wellness Grove:
