The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes for Behavioral Health Clinic, ensuring accurate submission of claims, and maintaining patient records. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate various billing software efficiently. Duties Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government agencies. Review and verify patient information for accuracy before billing. Manage accounts receivable, including following up on unpaid claims and resolving discrepancies. Utilize knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) to ensure proper coding and billing practices. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding standards. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in medical records or billing information. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies regarding medical billing practices. Assist in the collection of outstanding payments from patients or insurance companies. Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting with a focus on medical billing and coding. Familiarity with medical records management and terminology is essential. Proficient in using medical billing software and systems. Knowledge of medical collection processes and best practices. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance representatives, and healthcare providers. Certification in Medical Billing or Coding is a plus but not required.
