Job Description

Billing Compliance Specialist Creative Living Unlimited is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Compliance Specialist to join our administrative team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring billing accuracy, documentation compliance, and adherence to applicable regulations for services provided to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Billing Compliance Specialist will work closely with management, program staff, and administrative personnel to ensure services are documented, billed, and maintained in accordance with DODD, Medicaid, County Board, and other applicable funding source and regulatory requirements . Essential Responsibilities Review service documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to billing. Monitor billing processes to ensure compliance with DODD, Medicaid, County Board, and other funding source requirements. Identify documentation deficiencies and communicate corrective actions to supervisors and staff. Conduct routine audits of service records, billing records, and supporting documentation. Maintain knowledge of applicable DODD rules, Medicaid regulations, waiver requirements, and agency policies. Assist with preparation for audits, reviews, and compliance monitoring activities. Track and report billing discrepancies, documentation concerns, and compliance trends. Collaborate with management to develop and implement corrective action plans when needed. Provide guidance and training to staff regarding documentation and billing requirements. Maintain confidential records in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsRequired High school diploma or GED. Minimum of two years of administrative, billing, compliance, accounting, healthcare, or human services experience. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel. Ability to interpret policies, regulations, and documentation requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Experience with DODD service documentation and billing. Knowledge of Medicaid waiver services and billing requirements. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, Human Services, or a related field. Skills and Abilities Ability to analyze documentation and identify compliance concerns. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members. Commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
Pay:
$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
