Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately translating medical diagnoses, procedures, and services into standardized codes, ensuring seamless billing processes and compliance with industry regulations. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency of revenue cycle management and the accuracy of patient records. Duties Review and interpret medical documentation to assign appropriate
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
(Current Procedural Terminology), and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes for diagnoses and procedures Ensure accurate coding in accordance with current coding standards and guidelines to facilitate correct billing and reimbursement Prepare and submit clean claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, minimizing denials and delays Follow up on unpaid or rejected claims through medical collection processes, working diligently to resolve discrepancies Maintain comprehensive and organized medical records, ensuring all documentation aligns with coding and billing requirements Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation ambiguities or incomplete information Stay updated on changes in medical terminology, coding regulations, and insurance policies to ensure ongoing compliance Skills Proficiency in medical billing processes, including claim submission and follow-up procedures Strong knowledge ofICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding systems, along with DRG classifications for inpatient stays Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical records management Experience working with EMR/EHR systems to document, code, and bill patient encounters effectively Excellent understanding of medical office workflows and insurance claim procedures Ability to interpret complex medical records accurately and assign precise codes accordingly Effective communication skills to liaise with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients when necessary Join us in delivering exceptional healthcare administration by leveraging your coding expertise!
