Medical Billing Specialist

Duties Review and verify medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy before billing Assign appropriate CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes to medical procedures and diagnoses Prepare and submit claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies Maintain detailed documentation of billing activities, claim status, and patient records Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing information and coding discrepancies Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards related to medical coding and billing processes Fill in as front desk receptionist when needed to answer multi-line phone system as well as check in/check out procedures for clients Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 systems Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for billing and record management Experience with medical office operations and familiarity with medical records management Excellent understanding of insurance claim procedures and medical collection techniques Ability to interpret complex medical records and translate them into accurate billing data Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in coding and documentation Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients Join us as a Medical Billing Specialist to make a meaningful impact on healthcare delivery through precise coding, efficient billing practices, and dedicated patient service.
