Job Description

SUMMARY Prepare and submit contract billings that are accurate, timely and compliant to customers. Oversee tracking and reporting of project costs, calculating estimates of cost and revenue, and communications with program team and the customer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following: Develops billings accurately and timely to meet schedule for due date submission to customer. Ensures billing is compliant to the contract and all support documentation is provided for payment approval. Monitors time charging and expenses into CostPoint projects to understand billing costs. Coordinates with contracts department and program managers for contract specific information related to customer billings. Monitors status of payment through acceptance of the invoice by the customer. Inputs invoice into WAWF or other electronic system, as required. Responsible for open accounts receivable reporting and collection; collaborates with analyst on unbilled balances. Ensures compliance to Cherokee Nation Businesses (CNB) policies and processes. Provides process improvement suggestions to leadership, as needed. Post and review invoices for lower-level billing specialist. Provides training to new billing specialist, as needed. Performs other job-related duties as required.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
No supervisory/management authority.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field of study and 5 years of accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience . Accounting background preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of Deltek systems. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Working knowledge of FAR. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent analytical, organization, and attention to details skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work in team environment to accomplish the goals of the team and organization.
