Job Description

Overview Gold Dust & Walker Farms is a fast-paced, family-owned agricultural operation with deep roots in the Klamath Basin dating back to 1973. Position Summary The Billing Clerk is responsible for supporting the accounting and billing functions for Gold Dust Potato Processors and related operations. This position performs invoicing, freight billing, export documentation, payment reconciliation, data entry, and general clerical support in a fast-paced agricultural environment. The Billing Clerk works closely with accounting staff, carriers, growers, and customers to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial and shipping information. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDaily Responsibilities Back up processing of incoming mail Perform ½ sheet billing and freight invoicing for potato, hay, and export loads Assist with carrier calls and communication regarding freight and billing matters Weekly Responsibilities Enter carrier paid dates into Access Backup for pulling settlements and marking invoices as paid Backup for stamping invoices paid and stuffing checks Prepare export documentation Process first grower weekly/green sheets Complete PDS payment reconciliations Backup for checking export ETAs three times per week Proof Calbee container lists for accuracy Perform filing, scanning, copying, FedEx shipments, correspondence, and miscellaneous projects Process import billing on Friday afternoons and month-end Check bank balances on Friday afternoons and month-end Backup for import billing completed by the Bookkeeper on Wednesdays Assist GDP Accountant with billing issues and collections related to freight and potatoes Assist GDP Accountant with sending invoices to export customers As Needed / Quarterly / Annual Responsibilities Run company errands as needed Assist with crop-related data entry overflow Backup for auditing Access data Enter sales and grower contracts into Access Assist with annual potato season setup in Access Assist with Access maintenance during shipping season Qualifications and Skills Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a busy office environment Excellent communication, customer service, and phone etiquette skills Experience with clerical and administrative tasks including filing, data entry, scanning, proofreading, and document management Strong attention to detail and accuracy Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus Preferred Experience Prior accounting, billing, freight, logistics, or agricultural office experience preferred Experience working with export documentation and shipping records is beneficial Familiarity with agricultural accounting systems or grower accounting preferred Work Environment Office-based position in a fast-paced agricultural and food processing environment Extended periods of sitting, computer work, and phone communication May require occasional lifting of office materials and files Additional hours may be required during peak shipping or harvest seasons
Pay:
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
