Billing Dispute Lead Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Billing Dispute Lead to join our client to support the effective handling of complex billing disputes and constituent escalations. This onsite, contract to hire role in Philadelphia, PA focuses on guiding a small team responsible for high visibility inquiries involving public officials and regulatory agencies. The position plays a key role in ensuring accurate investigations, timely resolutions, and consistent compliance with applicable utility regulations. The ideal candidate brings leadership experience, strong analytical skills, and a service driven approach to customer advocacy and operational oversight.
Compensation:
$33.00 to $36.00 per hour
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, normal business hours Key Responsibilities of the
Billing Dispute Lead:
Oversee dispute resolution operations related to billing inquiries and constituent concerns, ensuring accurate investigation, documentation, and timely resolution Serve as a primary liaison with internal Customer Affairs teams and external city, state, and federal agencies regarding escalated cases Prepare formal written responses and provide supporting documentation outlining policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Maintain detailed tracking systems and deliver weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports that analyze complaint trends, outcomes, and unresolved issues Lead and coordinate staff workload, training, performance management, and adherence to company policies and collective bargaining agreements Qualifications and Skills for the
Billing Dispute Lead:
Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Three to five years of related experience within the utility industry, including billing or customer programs Working knowledge of Public Utility Commission Chapter 56 and regulations governing low income assistance programs Demonstrated leadership ability with experience coaching employees, addressing performance issues, and supporting grievance processes Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and utility billing systems Why Join Us?
