We are seeking a Billing Specialist in our Center City Philadelphia office. Candidates must be experienced in all aspects of insurance verification, and the pre-authorization process. The individual in this position plays a key role in supporting our patients' timely access to payer authorized services and medications.
Job Summary:
The Billing Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing processes for medical services. This role involves entering charges, handling phone inquiries, posting payments, and performing accounts receivable (AR) follow-up. The representative plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting the revenue cycle team.Key Responsibilities:
- Enter and verify physician charges into the billing system.
- Respond to patient and insurance inquiries via phone in a professional manner.
- Post payments accurately to patient accounts, including insurance and patient payments.
- Conduct follow-up on outstanding accounts receivable to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and denials through communication with payers and internal departments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of billing activities and follow-up actions.
- Ensure compliance with billing regulations and organizational policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years' experience in medical office/physician billing and revenue cycle operations.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and insurance guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Works well in a team environment
- Pre-employment background check and drug and alcohol test required
- Reliable transportation is a must.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- The employee in this position must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without accommodation.
