Job Description

Metro Family Therapy is seeking a highly organized, resourceful, and solutions-oriented Billing Specialist to help manage and optimize the billing operations of our growing behavioral health organization. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of billing workflows, independently problem solve, communicate professionally with clients and insurance companies, and help improve operational efficiency over time.
Responsibilities:
Own and manage day-to-day billing and benefits workflows Present and explain, benefits, invoices and balances to clients professionally and confidently as needed Answer client billing, and insurance questions and resolve account concerns Follow up on insurance claims, denials, and unpaid balances and credentaling Manage credit balances, refunds, and account corrections Navigate payer portals and insurance systems independently Assist with credentialing and payer follow-up as needed Use systems including Chart Caddy EHR, Square, Acuity, Availity, and payer portals Reconcile and balance accounts across systems Help identify payer bottlenecks and develop improved billing/account-balancing processes Track unresolved billing and credentailing issues through to completion Work independently with minimal guidance
Ideal Candidate:
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Comfortable learning systems and figuring things out independently Able to communicate clearly and professionally with both clients and insurance representatives Ownership-minded and detail-oriented Able to prioritize urgent/high-impact tasks Understands accountability and follow-through Oklahoma billing experience and expertise required
Position Details:
Hybrid position, mostly remote Majority of work may be performed remotely occasional in office may be expected Must be available for occasional onsite meetings, workflow collaboration, or operational support as needed Expected workload approximately 15-20 hours per week initially, might be more or less (negotiable) Compensation negotiable depending on experience, independence, and problem-solving ability This role is ideal for someone who enjoys navigating, improving systems, and taking ownership and autonomy.
Pay:
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
