BILLING SPECIALIST
. The Billing Specialist is responsible for producing and distributing all resident billing, submitting all Medicare and Medicaid claims and adjustments, collecting and depositing all payments and donations. The ideal candidate will be able to manage software to create new resident files and admissions to SNF as well as update all aspects of existing information, provide Nursing with current Medicare eligibility information as well as current medical insurance information, ensure completion of government reports as well as corporate reports. This position is full time (Monday - Fridays) and is fully on-site. Remote or hybrid remote work is NOT available.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to apply common sense of understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve problems under minimal supervision. 1+ year of experience in healthcare billing, accounts receivable, or a related administrative role. Basic knowledge of insurance billing processes, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance. Understanding of billing cycles, claims submission, and payment posting. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial documentation. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to use Microsoft Windows applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Knowledge of insurance billing and coding (for healthcare settings). Strong understanding of invoicing processes, payment posting, and account reconciliation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data tracking). Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients and internal teams. Familiarity with compliance standards and financial regulations relevant to the industry. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
