Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Collections Representative to support accounts receivable operations within a healthcare environment. This role is responsible for managing payer-side collections, resolving outstanding balances, and ensuring timely reimbursement in accordance with established policies. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle processes, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to meet collection targets in a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities Manage accounts receivable and perform follow-up on outstanding balances with insurance payers and third parties Conduct outbound collection calls and resolve claims in a timely manner Review and research unpaid claims, denials, and discrepancies Ensure compliance with billing, collection regulations, and internal policies Maintain accurate documentation of account activity Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and improve cash flow Support additional revenue cycle functions as assigned Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred) Minimum of 2+ years of healthcare collections experience Experience with hospital-based, outpatient payer-side collections (not patient collections) Strong understanding of healthcare accounts receivable processes Knowledge of third-party payers, collection laws, and industry regulations Proficiency in data entry and 10-key Typing speed of approximately 50 WPM Strong customer service and telephone communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with long-term acute care (LTACH) collections Familiarity with automated billing and collections systems Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, and insurance follow-up processes Experience in call center or high-volume collections environments Core Skills & Competencies Accounts receivable and collections expertise Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities Professional communication and customer service excellence Ability to work independently in a remote environment Performance & Incentives Performance-based bonus opportunities tied to: Collection metrics and revenue goals Quality assurance standards Attendance and productivity benchmarks Additional incentive opportunities may be available based on team and individual performance Work Environment 100% remote role Structured schedule with a strong emphasis on attendance and reliability Collaborative, team-oriented culture focused on performance and compliance Additional Information Must adhere to all confidentiality and compliance standards related to healthcare data Ongoing training and performance reviews may be included Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
