This position works closely with attorneys, paralegals, billing teams, and firm leadership to ensure accurate billing practices, timely appeal submissions, and compliance with ethical and procedural conflict standards. The specialist will receive training on legal conflict review and case processing protocols. Key Responsibilities Billing Appeals & Disputes Prepare and submit billing appeals or responses to client billing disputes Compile and review supporting documentation, including time entries, invoices, and engagement agreements Track appeal outcomes and communicate resolutions to relevant stakeholders Maintain accurate records of appeal activity and decisions Case & Conflict Support Assist with the identification, documentation, and review of potential client, matter, or attorney conflicts Process conflict checks for new matters or case changes under supervision and established protocols Support conflict resolution efforts by gathering relevant case information and maintaining proper documentation Escalate potential ethical or unresolved conflicts to designated leadership or compliance personnel Legal Billing Support Review, research, and respond to legal billing inquiries from attorneys, clients, and internal departments Assist with billing corrections, write‑offs, adjustments, and documentation in accordance with firm policies and client guidelines Support compliance with client billing requirements, fee agreements, and engagement terms Collaborate with attorneys and billing teams to resolve discrepancies efficiently General Responsibilities Maintain confidentiality and comply with legal ethics, firm policies, and data security standards Accurately update billing, case management, and conflict systems Provide professional communication with attorneys, staff, and external parties Participate in training related to legal billing, conflict management, and firm procedures Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred) Experience in legal billing, law firm administration, case management, or related legal support roles preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information Excellent organizational and time‑management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience with legal billing or practice management systems Familiarity with client billing guidelines and invoice review processes Exposure to conflict checks or legal ethics compliance procedures Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Work Environment Standard business hours, with an in-office work schedule.
