In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating smooth reimbursement from insurance companies and patients alike. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help optimize revenue cycles and improve patient satisfaction. Duties Prepare and submit accurate medical claims using DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding systems to insurance providers. Review medical records and documentation to ensure proper coding of diagnoses, procedures, and services. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies, resolving discrepancies promptly. Maintain detailed records of billing activities within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for compliance and audit purposes. Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility prior to billing. Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure all billing information is accurate and complete. Stay updated on changes in medical coding standards, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations to ensure compliance. Requirements Proven experience in medical billing with strong knowledge of
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and medical terminology. Familiarity with EMR systems, EHR platforms, and medical records management. Solid understanding of medical billing processes including claim submission, follow-up, appeals, denials, and collections. Ability to interpret medical documentation accurately for coding purposes. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Strong communication skills for liaising with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers. Prior experience in a medical office setting is highly preferred; certification in medical coding is a plus. Prior experience with ABA is a huge plus

$25.52 - $30.74 per hour
