Medical Billing Specialist

Orthopedic Billing Consultants is a boutique Revenue Cycle Consulting Firm that specializes in Orthopedic billing. Due to our rate of growth, we are hiring Billing Specialists to join our team! We welcome applicants from across the United States. Candidates located in the DC metropolitan area will follow a hybrid work schedule , with part of the week spent working onsite at our office in Rockville and the remainder remotely. Candidates outside the DC metro area are eligible to work fully remote, with no in-office requirement.

Medical Billing Specialist Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required. Medical Billing Experience required - Orthopedic billing experience preferred. Three plus (3+) years of experience in medical billing with a billing company or healthcare facility preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and procedural modifiers Ability to communicate effectively in writing, over the telephone, and in-person. Ability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent time management skills.

Medical Billing Specialist Job Description:

Must provide a high level of customer service. Previous experience with commercial insurances, Medicare, PPO, HMO, Workers Compensation, No-Fault carriers and their guidelines. Research claim denials and completes adjustments accurately and timely. Follow up on reimbursement and appeals. Review and research credit balances as needed Efficiently utilize all functions of the client's software applications, including maintaining accurate and detailed charts and notes. Accurately document notes in medical software system per company guidelines Observe legal and ethical guidelines of HIPAA for safeguarding patient and company confidential and proprietary information. Understand and achieve team and individual goals as determined by OBC's leadership team. Other duties as assigned OBC is an equal opportunity employer.
