We're seeking a Part-Time Medical Billing Specialist to support our billing and revenue cycle operations. This role ensures accurate claim submission, payment posting, and denial management, while maintaining compliance with payer and regulatory guidelines. The position offers hybrid flexibility and the potential to grow into a full-time role as the practice expands. Key Responsibilities Prepare, review, and submit insurance claims via SimplePractice, Availity, and payer portals Verify claim accuracy, authorizations, and credentialing before submission Post payments, reconcile deposits, and address underpayments or denials Track and resolve rejections or denials within payer deadlines Communicate professionally with payers, clients, and staff regarding billing concerns Assist with reporting, data tracking, and continuous process improvement What You'll Bring 3 years of experience in medical billing or coding (behavioral health preferred) Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers Proficiency with EHR systems (SimplePractice preferred) and clearinghouses (Availity, Payspan) Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, VA Community Care, and commercial payers Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills CPB or CPC certification preferred Why Join Suffolk Counseling Services?
