Remote Position with onsite training Acts as the primary contact for patients as related to account information. Prepares and files electronically or hard copy claims. Stays current of all Government/State/HIPPA, etc., rules and regulations pertaining to compliance in billing. Responsible for analyzing denials and initiating appeals, when necessary. Must be able to interact with patients and the general public respectfully and professionally. Maintains and exhibits a positive, supportive and safety conscious attitude to promote a good work environment. Duties & Responsibilities Knowledge of Government, State, HIPPA, and Commercial Insurance/Managed Care, rules, and regulations governing billing compliance. Gather and analyze medical records and billing for insurance payer audits. Responsible for quarterly compliance reporting and quarterly Medicare and Medicaid credit balance reports. Work credit balances for all payers. Responsible for assigned mail in lockbox. Detailed accuracy for scanning insurance information to patient's records. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Prior experience working with the public. Preferred Qualifications Prior electronic and/or hard copy billing. Knowledge of medical terminology. Background in Accounting and/or experience in accounting. Prior experience working with Government, State, and Commercial Insurance carriers.
