Billing Specialist

Billing Specialist Position Overview The Billing Specialist plays an essential role in ensuring accurate and timely medical billing processes within the organization. This position is responsible for reviewing and submitting claims, researching and resolving claim denials, verifying correct payments, and following up with insurance companies to secure proper reimbursement. The Billing Specialist works closely with patients, clinic staff, and insurance representatives to address billing inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and maintain smooth revenue cycle operations. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and adherence to confidentiality and regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA. The Billing Specialist supports the Billing Coordinator and leadership team by preparing reports, processing payments, and participating in ongoing education to stay current with billing practices and regulations.

Qualifications Required:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Preferred:

One (1) year of experience in medical billing/collections.
