Billing Specialist

The Rockbridge Area Health Center is currently recruiting a full-time Billing Specialist to join the Finance Team. The Billing Specialist maximizes reimbursements for patient services by performing complex clerical and accounting functions for patient billing. They review claims, follow-up on submitted claims, resubmit claims after correcting inaccuracies, and research proper billing techniques. Education, Credentials, and Experience High School Diploma or GED. 1 year experience in billing procedures in a medical facility. Front and back-office healthcare experience, preferably in Dental. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Certification in billing or coding preferred. Demonstrated strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills. Knowledge of billing guidelines and policies of Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party billing to ensure comprehensive payment. Ability to effectively communicate with internal/external customers while maintaining a professional approach. Excellent customer service skills. Proficiency with MS Office and billing/healthcare systems.
