Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately coding and diagnoses, managing billing processes for long term care, and ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance providers. Your expertise will help streamline revenue cycle management, improve patient record accuracy, and support the overall financial health of our organization. If you are reliable, self motivated and detail oriented person we are looking for you. Responsibilities Review and interpret medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10 codes for Medicare, Managed Care, Medicaid and Private insurance billing. Prepare and submit claims electronically through Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, adhering to payer guidelines. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by contacting insurance companies or patients to resolve discrepancies or obtain additional information. Maintain comprehensive and organized medical records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and documentation standards. Monitor accounts receivable, perform medical collections when necessary, and ensure timely payment processing. Requirements Proven experience in medical billing and coding within long term care or healthcare setting is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of ICD-10. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical records management. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for claim submission and record keeping. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Certification in Medical Coding (such as CPC from AAPC or CCS from AHIMA) is a plus but not mandatory. Pay:
$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
