Stevens Point, Wisconsin About the Role We are hiring a Medical Billing Specialist who understands the full billing cycle in a therapy setting — from authorization to payment. This role requires real experience with Wisconsin Medicaid (ForwardHealth), insurance billing, and working within a small clinic environment. This is not a training role. We need someone who can step in, stay organized, and consistently get the work done right. Responsibilities Submit and manage claims through ForwardHealth (Wisconsin Medicaid) Ensure preauthorizations are in place prior to services Request, obtain, and track service authorizations Monitor, reconcile, and follow up on unpaid or denied claims Manage accounts receivable and keep aging under control Correct and resubmit claims as needed Maintain clean, accurate billing records and ensure compliance Communicate in a kind, direct, and professional manner with colleagues, clients, and county representatives Maintain strict HIPAA compliance in all billing, communication, and documentation practices Qualifications Experience with ForwardHealth (Wisconsin Medicaid) billing — required Experience billing commercial insurance — required Experience in a therapy clinic or small healthcare setting — preferred Strong understanding of prior authorizations and payer requirements Experience with EMR/EHR systems Knowledge of billing workflows, denial management, and follow up processes Ability to work independently and stay organized Clear, direct communicator who remains professional and respectful What Matters Accuracy Consistency Follow through Accountability Compensation Competitive pay based on experience Flexible schedule options To Apply Submit your resume and a brief summary of your direct experience with Medicaid (ForwardHealth), insurance billing, and authorizations.
