Job Description

Billing Specialist / Administrative Assistant - Morning Shift Uinta Counseling is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented, and professional Billing Specialist/Administrative Assistant to join our team for the morning shift at our office in Evanston, WY. This position is a great fit for someone who is experienced in medical or mental health billing, can stay organized in a busy environment, understands the importance of confidentiality, and has an interest in the mental health field. Position Details This is an in-person, part-time position with morning hours of 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Pay will depend on experience. Responsibilities The Billing Specialist/Administrative Assistant will support the daily operations of the office, including: Submitting and following up on insurance claims across multiple payers Managing accounts receivable, including tracking outstanding balances and following up on unpaid claims Posting insurance payments and patient payments accurately Verifying patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments Resolving claim denials and resubmitting corrected claims as needed Communicating with insurance companies regarding billing inquiries Collecting and processing patient payments Answering phone calls and taking messages Scheduling and rescheduling appointments Greeting clients in a warm and professional manner Assisting with basic office tasks and maintaining a clean and welcoming office environment Protecting client confidentiality at all times in accordance with HIPAA regulations Qualifications Applicants must: Be at least 18 years old Have a high school diploma or equivalent Have a minimum of 1 year of experience in medical or mental health billing Demonstrate working knowledge of insurance claims processing and accounts receivable Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal Have strong typing and computer skills Be reliable, organized, and detail oriented Be comfortable interacting with clients in a respectful and compassionate manner Present themselves professionally Preferred Qualifications The following are not required but are a plus: Experience with mental health or behavioral health billing specifically Familiarity with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements Experience with EHR or practice management software Knowledge of CPT codes and mental health diagnosis codes (ICD-10) Previous experience in a medical or mental health office setting Interest in the mental health field
Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
