Credit Union Angott Search Group is pleased to partner with a $4B Michigan credit union in the search for a Repayment Manager. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all collections and repayment functions to ensure strong financial performance, regulatory compliance, and a consistent, member-centered experience. The Repayment Manager will lead a high-performing team focused on delinquency management, charge-offs, and loss mitigation while balancing organizational risk with thoughtful, solution-oriented member outcomes. This role requires a leader who can operate effectively in a regulated environment, make sound credit decisions, and build a culture of accountability, professionalism, and service.
Responsibilities:
Lead all repayment and collections functions, including delinquent loans, charged-off accounts, share accounts, foreclosures, and related recovery activity. Manage and develop a high-performing team, ensuring clear expectations, accountability, and ongoing coaching and development. Deliver a strong member experience by promoting respectful, solutions-oriented collections practices. Monitor and manage delinquency, charge-offs, and portfolio performance to meet organizational financial objectives. Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations governing collections and recovery activities. Oversee foreclosure processes, including asset disposition, short sales, and real estate preservation activities. Manage bankruptcy, garnishments, tax levies, small claims, and other legal recovery processes. Develop and monitor department budgets, performance metrics, and key collection indicators. Analyze portfolio trends and prepare regular reporting with insights and recommendations for leadership. Partner with internal stakeholders to align repayment strategies with broader lending and organizational goals. Facilitate process improvements and ensure consistent application of policies and procedures. Manage external agencies and ensure effective oversight of charged-off loan recovery efforts. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant records across all collections activity.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field required. 5+ years of collections or recovery experience within a financial institution preferred. 3+ years of leadership experience managing a collections or repayments team. Strong understanding of consumer lending, loss mitigation, and regulatory requirements. Experience with mortgage loss mitigation and government/conventional loan servicing preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive performance, and manage complex operational functions. Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills. Ability to balance regulatory requirements with strong member/customer service orientation. Compensation $120,000.00 Job # 2222 Share
