Position Summary The Credit & Collections Manager is responsible for leading the company's credit, collections, and accounts receivable functions across multiple brands and sales channels. This role will drive cash flow optimization, minimize bad debt exposure, support customer relationships, and establish scalable credit and collection processes as the organization continues to grow. The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with a customer-first mindset and has experience supporting wholesale, retail, e-commerce, and licensed consumer products businesses. Key ResponsibilitiesCredit Management Evaluate and approve customer credit applications and establish appropriate credit limits Monitor customer financial health, payment trends, and credit risk exposure Develop and maintain credit policies, procedures, and internal controls Partner with Sales and Customer Service teams to balance growth objectives with risk management Conduct periodic reviews of customer accounts and adjust terms as needed Collections & Accounts Receivable Lead collection efforts for domestic and international accounts Monitor aging reports and proactively resolve delinquent balances Reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and improve cash collections performance Escalate high-risk or severely past-due accounts when necessary Coordinate dispute resolution related to deductions, shortages, pricing, and chargebacks Oversee cash application accuracy and AR reconciliation activities Reporting & Financial Analysis Prepare weekly and monthly AR aging, collections, and cash forecasting reports Analyze trends in deductions, customer payment behavior, and bad debt exposure Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities Support month-end close activities related to receivables and reserves Assist leadership with audit requests and compliance documentation Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration Manage and mentor AR and collections team members as applicable Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Finance leadership Support ERP optimization and continuous improvement initiatives Build strong relationships with key retail, distributor, and licensing partners Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field 5+ years of progressive credit, collections, or accounts receivable experience 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred Experience in consumer products, manufacturing, wholesale distribution, collectibles, or retail industries strongly preferred Strong understanding of credit risk assessment and collections strategies Experience working with major retailers, distributors, and/or licensed product customers preferred Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with multi-brand or multi-entity organizations Familiarity with EDI deductions and retailer compliance programs Knowledge of SOX controls and audit support processes Experience implementing process improvements or AR automation tools Key Competencies Financial and business acumen Relationship management Problem-solving and decision-making Process improvement mindset Attention to detail Collaboration and accountability Results-driven collections leadership
