We're the operating system behind independent eyecare — the EHR, practice management, billing, scheduling, and payments platform that keeps these practices running smoothly. With new leadership, fresh growth capital from top-tier software and search fund investors, and a clear runway to $35mm+ in ARR, Crystal is at an inflection point. We're not a startup - we're a market leader focused on long-term value creation. That means building the team, the product, and the go-to-market engine to execute on our ambitious goals. Crystal RCM (Abeo Billing) is a critical growth lever for the business — and a significant opportunity to modernize, scale, and lead in revenue cycle management for eyecare practices. We're assembling a team that matches the opportunity. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, we'd like to hear from you. About the Role We're looking for a Director of Billing to own and transform Crystal's Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) business. This is a highly strategic, hands-on leadership role responsible for client outcomes, operational performance, team leadership, and building the systems required to scale. This is not a "manage what exists" role — this is a builder role. Crystal RCM has strong fundamentals but requires operational rigor, modern workflows, and technology enablement to reach its full potential. You will lead that transformation. You will own the end-to-end billing operation: onboarding new clients, managing ongoing billing performance, improving collections, leading a team of billing specialists, and implementing scalable processes, automation, and reporting. You'll also serve as the director point of contact for clients, ensuring they see measurable financial outcomes from our services. This role is built for a revenue cycle leader who understands optometry/ophthalmology workflows, thrives in ambiguity, and is motivated to build, optimize, and scale a high-impact services business.
