Medical Collections Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Collections Specialist with proven experience in anesthesia billing and collections to join our team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who understands the complexities of anesthesia claims and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and follow up on outstanding insurance and patient balances related to anesthesia services Analyze and resolve denied or underpaid anesthesia claims Work directly with payers to ensure accurate reimbursement Review EOBs and payer guidelines specific to anesthesia billing (modifiers, time units, etc.) Collaborate with billing and coding teams to correct and resubmit claims Maintain detailed documentation of collection activities Identify trends and recommend process improvements to increase collections

Qualifications:

Minimum 2+ years of medical collections experience , with a strong focus on anesthesia billing In-depth knowledge of anesthesia coding, modifiers, and time-based billing Experience working with commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid Strong understanding of denial management and appeals processes Excellent communication and negotiation skills High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities Bi-Lingual is a plus

Preferred:

Experience with anesthesia practice management systems CPC or related certification is a plus
